Kenny Leu was born in Taipei, but bred in the Bay Area. Growing up in a modest Chinese household, Kenny thought his life would be ******: work hard, make a living, and make his parents proud. After earning his Mechanical Engineering degree from ** Berkeley, he focused on his first passion, tech startups to change the world. He would go on to **** found venture-backed startups in law & education in Silicon Valley. With two successes on his belt, he decided to leave it all behind to pursue his second passion. Today, Kenny is an international actor, working in Los Angeles, New York, China, and Brazil. Kenny has developed a reputation for playing real people, reflecting authentic Asian stories. In Midway (2019), he plays the heroic young schoolteacher Zhu Xuesan in rural China during WWII. He also leads the indie drama A Shot Through the Wall (2020), as a Chinese rookie cop in NYC who accidentally kills a Black man - inspired by the grand jury indictment of Peter Liang in 2015. He also plays Sgt Eddie Chen, the beloved platoon leader of the men at the center of the tragic events of The Long Road Home (2017). Fans all over the world recognize him as Gohan in Dragonball Z: Light of Hope (2017), a live-action adaptation of the legendary ***** show, and the passionate Ben from the popular Asian American rom-*** Kat Loves LA (2017). He has also appeared on multiple television shows: NCIS, NCIS:LA & The Player, to name a few. Outside of acting, he was a member of the United States Wushu team from 2010 - 2012 (Chinese martial arts, specializing in open hand, Chinese broadsword, and staff), winning medals all over the world. Having been born in Taipei, he also speaks fluent Mandarin.
